It’s FREEZING in Knoxville this time of year. Not all of the homeless in our city live within walking distance of the notable shelters downtown. Would you spend $11.00 to save a life of someone living in the winter cold? Did you know that the ranks of the homeless include many children and veterans?
It’s not always about giving the homeless money when you interact with them, and if you’re like me, that’s on an everyday basis. Here are six essential items to help the homeless during the harsh winter months. Consider making these into packages, put them in your car within easy reach, and give them out as you go about your day. These items are from Amazon.com and shipping isn’t included in our estimate, but it’s likely to add around $1.00 per person. These items can also easily be purchased from retail stores throughout your area.
