Facebook began to change how your Fan Page(s) are designed beginning in April and the roll out is now complete. You may have noticed some changes in recent days. We believe these changes are positive and will allow your fans to more easily navigate your page and enjoy your content.
Click here to read Facebook’s “Facebook for Business” post explaining some of the changes.
If you’d rather not read the article or don’t have time, let us point out two key changes your fans will see on your page(s):
- Timeline Design – Prior to this change, updates posted to your Fan Page Timeline appeared in two columns, often confusing your Fans about the order in which they were posted. The newly designed Timeline features one column, removing this confusion.
- Business Info – Now that there’s an extra column available to the left of the screen, Facebook is featuring your business information more prominently in this space. Information about your page that is listed in this space includes: number of likes, a map of your business, your hours of operation, phone number, website URL, and more.
The remaining changes are administrative in nature and do not impact your fans. The major administrative change is an added quick view of your Page Insights. Page Insights are now easily available in an overview format on the right side of your screen. Note that this is only an overview but it’s helpful to easily see your reach, number of new fans, etc.
Here’s to the new changes and keeping up with them!
